license2quit.wordpress.com which sounds better and is in tune to what I am blogging about. Although I love CuppaYuppa, it sounds too disney like. I still think Cuppa Yuppa.com is a very cute name for a website, don’t you?

Holiday mood
December 24, 2007Today is Christmas Eve, and I did not have much time to think about making my first $ online.
The idea that I first had to promote an ebook about 4 x 4 written by my experienced uncle is now not viable as the book is not available due to certain reasons.
I have to re-think on my product or what to do online besides blogging, ebay, etc.
Thoughts
December 23, 2007I did a google search within Malaysia on “make money online”sites and there are plenty of Malaysians out there who are making extra income online. Most of the sites are making money from ads, links and clicks to their blog, etc. This revolution actually started in 2002 and now the top Malaysian internet blogger is able to rake in USD5,000 and above per month. With the conversion rate, we are taking about RM16,000 per month. This is more than the monthly salary of General Managers in some companies. Impressive huh?
I am not that interested in blogging for income or maybe its because I do not understand the concept fully?
Ebay is another platform to earn $ online but of course you need to have inventory and know what you want to sell.
I just subscribed to updates from my fellow Malaysian on his path to earning full income online, please visit his website to have a look: Rajawang. He has fun updates and you can see how he is making his money.
I would like to say upfront here, I am not looking for a quick buck but to attain financial freedom. So this blog is for me to document my journey into financial freedom.
Financial freedom means different things to different people. For me, is being able to do the things you want in life without worrying about money e.g. to travel as you wish. Also, its about passive income. What happens when you are longer able to contribute to your company and you are laid off. Sure, you can always look for another job but is that how its got to be? Do we not as the captain of the ship (the person in charge of our own lives) have some say?
Further insight
December 22, 2007I re-read the Fast Cash Strategy today and gained more insight into the seven steps to making fast cash even if the product is not IM related. As mentioned in yesterday’s post, I am formulating something which might be workable and possibly make my first $ online.
I am also contemplating to purchase Write That Report from Jonathan Leger – will his report be able to teach to me to write report(s) that will be purchased by customers? I have decided not to purchase at this time as I think I need to really focus on getting my first product idea out.
Fast Cash Strategy
December 21, 2007Just finished this book by the very established Lynn Terry and I would like to inform that this book has opened my eyes to how to promote ‘your’ product without a website, list, etc….I did not regret purchasing this book and it works very well with my earlier purchase. Basically the two books I have purchased gave me different avenues to make money online and it teaches you the approach. The basic ingredient that is required is still a product (either your own or someone’s else). This is something that I need to consider before really building my online business. Information marketing is one aspect of online business and there are other types of online businesses you can consider such as becoming a coach or an expert on a subject, selling tangible products (which is much harder because you have to deal with physical inventory, stock and shipping, etc). I am still looking at the various opportunities and deciding on what I really want to do.
I know I do not want to be just a one-off IM since I mentioned before, I really want to build an established business online and provide real value in terms of meeting a need or want- which I am still not very sure what it will be.
Hence, I will reassess my goals, but there is something cooking in my head at the moment after reading Fash Cash Strategy. I will write more about it later.
I finished
December 20, 2007I have finished reading the 52 page ebook by Tony Shepherd and Sara Brown, and I would say the book is definitely worth reading to learn and get insight on how to make $ from the internet. The most important thing is to have a product for e.g. ebook, video, audio etc. Basically, the book is about information marketing and how to convert sales.
I am interested to do an online business that is sustainable and provide customers actual value and use from the business. I am wonder how I can go about it. I need ideas!
I have also just signed up at www.clicknewz.com, a blog roll that is owned by Lynn Terry and from reading her articles, someone that is down to earth and believable. So I have also spent $ to buy her 15 page report on how to make $ on the net without a website, database, etc. I have now expended RM130 (USD37) on my quest to make $ online.
Tomorrow is back to work for me in a market research company, thankfully is a Friday and I want to read and finish Lynn Terry’s report.
Good night from Malaysia, its 12.16am.
Genesis
December 19, 2007So here it goes, I want to be financially shackles free…..I have been a subscriber of Martin Avis’ Kickstart Daily ezine for the past 4 years. Through him, I have learned that it is possible to earn money online as long as you have a real passion for it and is serious about its possibilities. I did start my own website called www.infosponge.net circa 2003. The purpose of the original website was to share as a newbie on what’s happening in my world of internet marketing, with doses of inspiration and a weekly ezine titled Cuppa of the week or something along that line. That was when I was residing in the UK on a 2 year working holiday visa. Suffice to say, nothing came out of that website, and it was neglected as I lacked focus and what I truly wanted to do.
Back to present moment and 4 years later, now back in my homeland Malaysia, I have decided to get back on the horse’s back and give myself a good one (1) year to build an online business presence.
To quote from Martin Avis’s recommendation on this book for internet newbies “Licensed to Quit”
One such book is ‘Licensed to Quit’ by Kickstart reader
and forum regular Tony Shepherd and his business
partner Sara Brown.Man it’s good. I’ve had the book for a few days now,
but haven’t been allowed to tell you about it until
now.Tony and Sara have been selling the book to their own
subscribers at a special discount before it goes live
on ClickBank. They have very generously offered to let
you have the same deal.Believe me, it’s a steal. What is ‘Licensed to Quit’ about?Part one of the book talks about the importance of
having your own product to sell, how you can quickly
and easily get one without having to do very much work,
and how to create a system to get the maximum revenue
from your work – even if you give it away for free!It is good, solid, tried and tested advice from a pair
of seasoned Internet marketers who only describe
systems and strategies that they have tested and proved
for themselves. There is absolutely no fluff and no
vague theory. This stuff works.Part two of the book gets into the meat of the system
that Tony and Sara actually use to launch their own
products and create hundreds or thousands of dollars of
income – even without lists to market to. Once again,
it is real-life information that works.Who is the book aimed at? Certainly newbies will find
it refreshingly easy to understand and apply. There
aren’t a whole lot of difficult concepts to learn, just
plain common sense. Advanced Internet marketers will
also get a lot out of ‘Licensed to Quit’ because it
teaches a fully-formed system that is easy to put into
action.
Action is, of course, the key to success. Action to
apply the things you learn and action to grasp the
nettle and decide that Internet marketing is the way
forward for you.
Incidentally, for all those many Kickstarters who
bought the excellent “20/20′ course from Michael Green
a few months ago, ‘Licensed to Quit’ is a perfect
companion because it gives you an alternative method of
promoting your products that doesn’t rely on finding JV
partners.
This is a limited time offer. The discount will only
apply until Tony and Sara put the book on ClickBank at
the full price, so if I were you, I’d bite their hands
off!

His review of the book has inspired me to take a look at the sales page for the book and at $27, is not too expensive for me after the obligatory currency conversion but by no way its cheap either (RM95) for a 52 page e-book. The straight-forward sales page persuaded me to take stock of my life, after all my 2008 goal is to purchase my first property.
Initially, I was thinking of using my bonus to buy a Braun Buffel leather bag, but I rather think this is a better way to spend my hard-earned money, to learn and apply something that can make me more money.
So, I have just downloaded the book last night after paying with my credit card via Pay Pal, and printed it out just today. I will update on this blog my path to get the license to quit my job.
I want and will it to happen.
Merry Christmas!
